A 3D Printing Record in the Port of Rotterdam

News

Rotterdam-based Royal3D and Broekman Logistics are partnering up this Easter to set a new record in creating the largest, fully made of recyclable plastic, 3D printed egg in the world. The record is to be set at our Broekman terminal in Rotterdam Heijplaat, in our assembly hall—renamed ‘Eggsambly Hall’ for this special project. 🐣

A Special Easter Project

Fulko Roos dives into the project’s beginnings: “Months back, we kicked off the printing right at our own grounds, engineering and churning out part after part. The Egg – it’s set to be a cracker – will tower 17 meters high and tip the scales at 12 tons. Now we are piecing it all together in Broekman Logistics’ Heavy Lift Centre and once it’s all ready, Broekman Logistics will transport it away to its nest right here in Rotterdam.

The Egg will be revealed as an Eggscape room in the Rotterdam on Easter Monday. Stay tuned for this truly jaw-dropping spectacle!
