Broekman Logistics, the global supply chain solutions specialist, headquartered in Rotterdam, announces a leadership change. Sustaining its growth strategy and building on its 60 years of heritage, the company will further intensify its role as logistic service provider in focused end markets, such as the chemical industry and industrial machinery and equipment segment.
Broekman Logistics, co-founded by the Geuther family as a shipping agency in the Port of Rotterdam in 1960 and evolved into the full supply chain solutions provider it is today, announces a leadership change. Rik Pek (39) will step in the role of CEO of the company and assume responsibilities of Raymond Riemen, who acted as the CEO of the company since 1999. Rik, who started his career at Broekman Logistics in 2005, held multiple roles with a commercial and operational background, most lately as Managing Director of the Breakbulk Terminals and International Freight Forwarding divisions.
“I am proud that we hereby continue the successful tradition of the company to fill the top management position with a manager from our own ranks”, says Dr. Ralph-Hillard Geuther, shareholder of Broekman Logistics, “With his long service within the company, Rik is the right person to continue the course, to further optimise the activities of the company and to exploit all commercial opportunities that arise”.
Furthermore, Ulrich Steenken (55) will join the company as CFO and succeeds Diederik Günther. Building on a long term experience of several positions as CFO in the Logistics Sector, with a long career at Geodis, Kuehne + Nagel and Rohde & Liesenfeld, Ulrich is the qualified person to further streamline the operations of the company and to further push the digitalization agenda and expand the proposition of data-driven logistics services.
“I am glad for the trust I gained from our shareholder and with support of the entire team, I am confident that the company will have a bright future ahead”, says Rik Pek. “Furthermore, I would like to thank Raymond and Diederik on behalf of everyone at Broekman Logistics for the work done to bring the company to where it stands now.”
“People change, but the ship will maintain its course”, concludes Dr. Geuther. “With a stable ownership, a management with long experience within the company, and – above all – a dedicated and passionate workforce, we are confident that Broekman Logistics will continue to provide its partners and clients with its logistic Global Reach, whilst maintaining its renowned Personal Touch”.
