Our Story

We started in 1960 as shipping agent in the Port of Rotterdam. Something we still are today – but, these days we are a lot more. Since our formation we have grown into an end-to-end supply chain solution provider, with offices in the Benelux, Central Europe and India.

Since the beginning in 1960, we have been a family owned company. The values and commitment of the founding family Geuther is the base of our long-term partnerships. We cherish these relations and continuously reinvent ourselves to serve the future needs of our clients in their highly specialised markets.

With an annual turnover of around 250 million EUR and 1,000 employees, Broekman Logistics is an all-round logistics service provider. In the Netherlands we are a top 20 logistics player and one of the few independent logistics services providers with strong focus on our core industries. With a strong asset-base in terminals and warehousing we serve our clients’ needs in contract- and port logistics.

We are present in the major economic growth hubs of the world. With our 18 own offices in India and are a specialist in this region and with our 16 locations in Central-Europe and Northwestern Europe, we offer our partners a personal touch, while truly understanding local market requirements.

Broekman Logistics has its headquarters in Europe’s largest port; Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Our headquarters in the Waalhaven port area is close to the city center. We are a full service logistics organisation offering ocean, road, rail, air and multimodal transport. We specialise in handling, processing and storing complex, heavy or dangerous products and transporting them in the most efficient way. We offer Value Added Logistics (VAL) and Value Added Services (VAS), to simplify and strengthen our clients’ supply chains, on a worldwide basis.

Our Locations

Broekman Logistics provides integral logistics solutions through out international offices. These offices collaborate to facilitate optimal supply chains. Over the years we have built an extensive network of partners throughout the globe, which ensures we can serve our client everywhere.

Across Europe, Broekman Logistics is present at more than 20 locations, in the logistic hotspots of Europe. At the major Ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam, in the strategic location of Dutch Limburg near the German border and in central locations in Poland and Czech Republic, offering a perfect connection for European distribution.

In India, the gateway to the rest of Asia, we have a very strong footprint, with over 18 offices at all strategic locations near the major sea- and airports. In China we have our own representative office in the prime location of Shanghai.

Where it all started

Our History

Looking beyond logistics, our culture, is deeply rooted in our history of and carries the typical Rotterdam’s entrepreneurial mentality, while blending it with the experience of our global reach and personal touch.

On October 27^th in the year 1960, Mr. Aad Broekman registered Broekman Motorships N.V. in the Rotterdam chamber of commerce. As an independent shipping agent, Broekman Logistics specialised in shipping breakbulk cargo and cars. On January 17^th 1961, the Wasaborg sails into the Nieuwe Waterweg, carrying 250 tons of conventional cargo and eighteen cars, marking our first success story.

The story continues: with an entrepreneurial mindset, we started to grow internationally. We always have been looking beyond. We saw the opportunities to add value to our partners’ supply chains and invested in terminals, where we modified our partners’ goods. From here, we moved into even more complex supply chains and started warehouse operations in the Machinery, Industrial and Chemical segments, while remaining loyal to our entrepreneurial spirit, which formed Broekman Logistics in its early days.

A team you can count on

Our Senior Management

The Geuther family, one of the company’s founding families, is the sole shareholder of Broekman Logistics. The family shows its active interest in the company’s development, while trusting the strategic direction as set by the Senior Management. Our Senior Management is led by our Board of Directors, CEO Rik Pek and CFO Nicolas Parey and completed by a senior team with ample experience in Logistics and general management.

We operate in 3 different divisions; International Freight Forwarding & Shipping, Warehousing & Distribution and Freight Forwarding to serve our broad range of clients and our Corporate divisions enables a professional service delivery. We put a strong focus on cross-company collaboration, in order to unburden our clients with an integrated supply chain solutions

Transparency in all our efforts is where in our view Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) starts. We annually publish a CSR report in which we evaluate our business activities according to the internationally recognised GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards.
